Sion Tammes
From Tecumsehs
The improbably named Sion Tammes first shambled onto the diamond at Clissold Park in 2006. Little were his new team-mates to know that underneath the suave, relaxed, mild-mannered exterior lay an interior carved from pure determination with architraving of high ambition.
That ambition burst to the surface near the start of the 2007 season, when in one game the reinvigorated Sion made two excellent outfield catches, including one that led to our first double-play of the season. He oozed confidence and sweated determination (all artistically crafted into a lovely artex design). The man, the monster, had arrived.
It is fair to say that Sion breaks with many long-held Tecumseh traditions, such as drinking beer and not practising softball, but despite that he still comes to the pub and has become a valuable member of the team. Just don't talk to him about pupusa sauce. AGT
